What is a Warbird?
A warbird is any airworthy ex-military historic aircraft now in private ownership.
Aims of this website
The aim of this website is not to glorify war, but to educate, and to provide the visitor with a non-political reference guide to warbirds flying in the UK today, and some of their history.
We feel that although static museums have their place in preserving old aeroplanes, these machines were built to fly, (unless of course the historic significance of a machine would put it at too greater risk to do so). It's important that these aircraft are preserved for future generations, but not just to see them, but the hear these aeroplanes and experience them in the air where they belong.
As we see these aircraft flying at airshows, or see them under maintenance with the panels removed exposing their inner workings, it is a constant reminder of the roots of modern aerospace technologies, and a valuable history lesson. If this comes across on this website, then we have succeeded in our aim!
